From Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse

You probably heard or read about the horrible story of this 2 years old Chinese girl who was run over by two vans and ignored by passers-by in southern China a few days ago. It was announced yesterday that she died in the hospital.

Here is what Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse wrote today on his FB about the incident:

“My prayers go out to little Wang Yue. May we be able to conceive this incident as the message from the Boddhisattvas, showing all of us how cold, heartless, uncompassionate and selfish we have become amidst the pursuit of worldly happiness and insatiable greed for the materialistic achievements. From this incident may we learn our downfall and degeneration, and may we learn to be kind and compassionate. Even if we we are unable to get rid of our greed, may we learn to have intelligent greed. If we can do that, Wang Yue’s manifestation will not have been wasted. If a few of us became contemplative, kind and compassionate even if it is for a few hours because of this incident, may the merit from it make little Wang Yue be reborn in the pure realms.”

You can read more about the story on the BBC’s website.
